SYNOPSIS

Managing Project Risks effectively is crucial for successful project deliveries. Risk management is beyond the formal project risk exercise demanded by project governance, instead it is a day-to-day state of mind and action to remove obstacles along the project implementation journey, to minimize disruptions especially on the critical paths, as well as to maneuver side-ways or over the significant risks that lie ahead.

There will be sharing on fundamental considerations to help us manage project risks based on the triple constraints of project management. Areas of project risk management are from early risks identification to effective engagement with stakeholders; and along the project life cycle from project charter in the early Front End phases up until the project handover.

Project practitioners need to oversee wide-angle perspectives and look at the big picture, on how potentially project risks may spill over as issues or negative consequences to the future operations and impact to businesses. Key areas such as setting up realistic yet improved targets, and the soft skills required in project risk management will be discussed with the participants. Managing Project Risks is both science and art, constantly an essential input to project decisions.
