Guidelines – Admission to the grade of Engineering Technologist Graduate Member

1. To qualify as a Technologist Graduate Member of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), you must be above 18 years of age. You are required to obtain the following:
    
   1. an accredited engineering technology degree
   2. a registered Engineering Technologist with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
       
2. All graduates must possess qualifications which is the Institution’s Accredited List. Enquiries on the recognition of any particular qualification is welcomed. Those who possess qualifications not currently in the Institution’s Accredited list will be required to provide a copy of their engineering technology degree syllabus and course contents.
    
3. You are required to submit copies of the following documents DULY certified by your Proposer:
    
   1. Engineering Technology Certificates from local universities in both English and Malay need to be submitted. (Certificates from overseas universities issued in foreign languages must be accompanied by an English translation obtained from University Registrar/Embassy Official, etc).
   2. "Transcript of Academic Record" or details of courses and subjects" issued by the University, where you had attained the degree.
       
4. If your engineering technology degree do not show the Division/ Branch/ Discipline required, you have to submit photocopies of additional secondary documents (examples: result slips, Department's letter, etc.) to indicate the Discipline.
    
5. Proposer for this Application:
    
   1. Must be a Corporate Member of IEM (M.I.E.M/F.I.E.M)
   2. Must certify the supporting documents to be uploaded to this Online Application by responding to the email entitled ‘Request to be Proposer / Seconder’ which will be sent to the Proposer on the same day of Online Application submission.
