SYNOPSIS
This workshop dwells in the three fundamental blocks of engineering education i.e. curriculum design, assessment implementation and teaching methodologies with the Engineering Programme Accreditation Standards 2024 (EPAS 2024) as the backdrop. The training will start with a lecture on overview of education and engineering curriculum design philosophies followed by assessment purpose and method. Then, a brief lecture on learning theories will be presented. The session will end with an exchange of best practices in teaching and learning among the participants.
Objectives
Upon the completion of this workshop, the participants will be able:
1. To understand the philosophies of curriculum design aligned with the Engineering Programme Accreditation Standards 2024 2. To design assessments which are constructively aligned with the Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) 3. To develop engaging teaching skills

BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Dr. Siow Chun Lim received his Ph. D in Electrical Power Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching & Learning from Taylor’s University. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University, Malaysia. His research interest includes engineering education, lightning risk assessment, electrical earthing material and sustainable energy. He is a professional electrical engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer, a Professional Human Resources Development (HRD) Corporation Certified Trainer, a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia, and is also trained in Design Thinking and Visualisation Through Freehand.
