SYNOPSIS
Process safety is to prevent and mitigate accidental loss of containment of hazardous materials. Process Safety Management (PSM) emphasizes the management of hazards through a comprehensive program which integrates technologies, procedures and management practices. PSM offers a systematic and structured approach to identification, prevention and mitigation of process risks ensuring safe operation.
The course is meant to provide both instruction and workshop sessions so that the participants:
• Are familiar with the PSM process • Have the opportunity to engage in PSM exercises in a safe environment. • Opportunity to share PSM experiences. • Demonstrate the ability to identify threats, consequences and mitigation actions related to PSM according to good practices. • Discuss Company PSM
As time is limited, the half day course will have an overview of the Process Safety Management pillar, but the focus of the course will be on two pillars:
• Mechanical Integrity • Management of Change
