SYNOPSIS
The webinar talk focuses on the rapid expansion of data centers in Malaysia, emphasizing the need for strategic planning to align with national policies, sustainability, infrastructure, and security. PLANMalaysia has introduced the Data Center Planning Guidelines (GPP) to guide stakeholders. The webinar aims to address trends, legal frameworks, and planning guidelines while discussing key challenges like site selection, infrastructure demands, and environmental impact. Targeting government bodies, developers, and industry professionals, the event seeks to enhance coordination and best practices. Ultimately, it aims to support sustainable data center growth, strengthening Malaysia’s position as a competitive digital hub.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
TPr. Suzlyna Abdul Latib is an experienced urban planner currently serving at the Town and Country Planning Department, Ministry of Housing and Local Government (PLANMalaysia). She holds a Master’s degree in Heritage Management and Conservation (2008) and a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning (2002), both from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam. She is also a professional member of the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP) and the Malaysian Association of Social Impact Assessment (MSIA).
With extensive experience in Social Impact Assessment (SIA), TPr. Suzlyna has been a speaker for competency courses, a presenter of SIA papers at state-level planning committee meetings, and a speaker on SIA for various government agencies and local authorities. She currently leads the secretariat unit for SIA-related meetings and has played a key role in developing training modules, formulating examination questions, delivering lectures, serving as an interview panellist, and managing administrative matters related to SIA.
