SYNOPSIS
Accidents and equipment failures involving overhead bridge and gantry cranes are preventable with proper operation and maintenance. However, many crane operators, maintenance personnel, engineers, and managers often lack the technical expertise needed to handle these cranes with confidence.
This talk on Overhead Crane Safety is designed to equip participants with the basic knowledge and skills to safely operate, inspect, and maintain overhead cranes. Participants will also gain a basic understanding of different crane types, their components, and the critical steps for conducting pre-operational inspections.
The talk emphasize on safe operating practices, preventive and corrective maintenance. By the end of the talk, participants will have confidence to manage crane operations safely and efficiently minimizing risks, preventing accidents, and enhancing overall productivity.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Ts. Nicholas Chee
Ir. Ts. Nicholas Chee is a seasoned trainer with 20 years of expertise in the crane industry and electrical safety. Holding a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) from Multimedia University and an MBA from Cardiff University, he is a Professional Engineer and holds multiple certifications, including ACPE, P.Tech, REM-Type 2, CEM, APEC Eng, ASEAN Eng and IntPE.
Nicholas has been with VME Material Handling for 18 years and currently serves as General Manager, specializing in overhead crane projects and sales. With extensive experience in the crane industry, he has designed tailored training programs focused on crane operations and safety. As a highly sought-after trainer, he has conducted numerous sessions to equip crane professionals with the essential skills for safe and efficient operations.
