SYNOPSIS
This session will feature Nor Nasyriq Bin Shahirudin, Deputy Project Director of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) at Sarawak Metro. The talk will provide an overview of the KUTS project, its objectives, current progress, and the broader vision for sustainable urban mobility in Sarawak. Participants will gain insights into the challenges and opportunities in implementing a modern public transport system, including the integration of Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART), infrastructure development, stakeholder coordination, and innovation in urban transport planning.
The session will also highlight key lessons learned and how Sarawak Metro is setting the foundation for a more connected, efficient, and environmentally friendly transport future for Kuching and beyond.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Mr. Nor Nasyriq bin Shahirudin
Nor Nasyriq bin Shahirudin has more than 14 years’ experience in the railway industry, working both in Malaysia and overseas.
In Malaysia, he was involved in the MRT1, MRT2 and LRT3 projects. He has also worked in Qatar on the Doha International Airport project.
He joined Sarawak Metro in October 2020 and his responsibility is to lead the project team as well as collaborate with the project partners in ensuring the smooth and successful implementation of the KUTS project.
