SYNOPSIS
As businesses and industries navigate the evolving landscape of sustainability, understanding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles is no longer optional—it’s essential. This training provides a structured approach to ESG, helping businesses, particularly MSMEs, integrate sustainability into their operations while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
A key aspect of sustainability lies in the materials we use. Many engineering materials, such as metals and polymers, come from finite resources, and their extraction and processing can harm ecosystems, pollute air and water, and contribute to climate change. This training bridges the gap between ESG principles and materials engineering, highlighting how sustainable practices can drive both environmental responsibility and business success.
Participants will explore the impact of materials engineering on environmental and social sustainability, covering key topics such as resource efficiency, energy consumption, waste management, greenhouse gas emissions, and recycling. The training will also address social concerns, including enhancing public health and safety, and supporting social equity and inclusion. Additionally, it will examine the role of governance in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, ethical business practices, and sustainability reporting.
By embracing innovation, adopting sustainable practices, and fostering collaboration, businesses and engineers alike can pave the way toward a more sustainable and socially responsible future.
