SYNOPSIS
Membranes are well-known for their applications in gas separation, especially for small molecule gas separation. This webinar provides broad information and addresses various aspects of membranes in gas separation, including the preparation of different types of membrane materials, characterization techniques for determining membrane properties, and gas permeation analysis.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Yeong Yin Fong
AP Ir Dr Yeong Yin Fong is currently serving as Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. For the past 12 years she has been actively working on the synthesis and characterization of membrane materials and catalysts for CO2 and CH4 separation, adsorption and conversion to value added products. She is a member under Centre of Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCCUS), Institute of Sustainable Energy and Recourses (ISER). She is expert in advanced synthesis and fabrication of high-performance membrane/adsorbents materials, and is familiar with the specific needs, relevant facilities and basic procedures to physically and chemically characterize the membrane/adsorbents materials. Besides, she is also familiar with the design, fabrication and operation of membrane separation, CO2 conversion as well as CO2 and CH4 adsorption testing facilities. To date, she has authored/co-authored more than 70 research articles with h-index of 29. In addition to the research profile, she has earned the professional titles of Professor Engineer, Ir, CEng, Ts., awarded by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), and the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), respectively.
