SYNOPSIS

The Damansara - Shah Alam Expressway (DASH) is a 20.1km long intra-urban expressway of which is 90 percent on elevated structures and linking the western and eastern parts of the Klang Valley. DASH Section B connects from Persiaran Surian in Kota Damansara to Damansara Perdana and towards Kuala Lumpur with a total of five (5) elevated interchanges and one (1) toll plaza. Messrs. Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) via its subsidiary Projek Lintasan Damansara-Shah Alam Sdn Bhd is the Concession Company for DASH.

This webinar will give an overview of the expressway and the distinctive engineering features such as the Penchala Interchange which is Malaysia’s most complex multi-tiered interchange with a total of seventeen (17) elevated ramps of which seven (7) ramps are by DASH and the first Malaysian highway to feature a fully enclosed noise barrier structure at Damansara Perdana.

Ir. James Leong Ting Hau graduated with a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He is a Board of Engineers Malaysia registered Professional Engineer With Practising Certificate, a Member of The Institution of Engineers Malaysia, a Member and Chartered Professional Engineer registered with Engineers Australia and a Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation. He is an Associate of Zaidun-Leeng Sdn. Bhd. with over 20 years of experience in highway engineering design and management of major highway projects such as Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE)1 (Duta Link), DUKE2 (Sri Damansara Link), Setiawangsa - Pantai Expressway (Section 1), Damansara – Shah Alam Expressway (Section B), Upgrading and Widening of Jalan Yew in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru-Nusajaya Coastal Highway and Coastal Highway Southern Link in Johor.
