SYNOPSIS

As urban coastal areas confront growing energy demands and environmental challenges, ocean energy presents a viable renewable solution. This talk examines waves, tidal, and OTEC technologies, their integration into urban infrastructure, real-world applications, and key challenges. Explore how harnessing ocean energy can enhance sustainability and resilience in urban coastal areas.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Dr. Cheng Yee Ng is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) specializing in offshore engineering, ocean renewable energy, marine hydrokinetic turbines and offshore carbon capture system. She also serves as Programme Manager for MSc in Offshore Engineering. A member of IEM and ICE, she actively contributes to energy sustainability research and development.
