SYNOPSIS

Introduction to IEM aims to provide an overview of IEM to potential members, especially university students, to help them better understand the organization. This time, MDP has taken the initiative to conduct this introduction in a series format to ensure more participants receive the intended information.

BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Meheron is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, Curtin University Malaysia. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from University Malaya (UM) and Master of Engineering from University Putra Malaysia (UPM). In 2011 he obtained his Professional Certificate from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH) UK. He is a registered Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia (EA-CPEng), APEC Engineer, member of Road Engineering Association Malaysia (REAM), Asia & Australasia (REAAA) and a Professional Member of Malaysian Green Building Council. Currently he is the coordinator of Curtin Highway and Infrastructure Research Innovation Hub (CHIRI), a research group under the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Curtin University Malaysia. In 2018 he was appointed as EAC and ETAC Panel of Evaluator for Civil Engineering Degree Programs by the Engineering Accreditation Department (EAD), Board of Engineers Malaysia. He is also the Chairman of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Miri Branch. He is a certified trainer by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB Malaysia). Prior to joining academics, he has gained extensive industrial experience as project engineer, design engineer and project manager in various fields of civil engineering
