SYNOPSIS
The Selat Melaka Waterfront Economic Zone plays a significant role in coastal economic activities in Malacca. The purpose of the visit is to gain insights into the development strategies for the maritime economic region of Peninsular Malaysia. A key focus will be on understanding the engineering and technological aspects, which are critical to the project's success.
Technical Forum on the Sustainability of Maritime
The Straits of Melaka, a vital waterway linking the West and East since ancient times, necessitates the development of a sustainable maritime city. This requires balancing urban growth with marine conservation, focusing on environmental, economic, and social sustainability, alongside innovative solutions and climate change mitigation. A sustainable maritime city ensures global ecological and economic well-being while preserving resources for future generations. The forum will address key challenges, including balancing growth with conservation, mitigating socioeconomic impacts, and securing investments in green technologies and infrastructure.
