ABOUT BIM TRAINING STUDIO AND MYBIM CENTRE

The technical visit aims to provide participants with insight into Building Information Modelling (BIM) practices in Malaysia. It includes a tour of the Studio Latihan BIM, Unit BIM at the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia, and the myBIM Centre. The purpose is to showcase the application of BIM technology in the construction sector, emphasizing its role in improving project management, efficiency, and collaboration across different construction phases.

Locations Visited:

1) Studio Latihan BIM (BIM Training Studio):

Overview: This training studio is designed to upskill JKR staff in BIM competencies through hands-on training in software and processes.
Focus: The studio primarily emphasizes both the technical aspects of BIM tools and design coordination in JKR projects, promoting effective collaboration among project teams.

Activities: Presentation showcases of BIM applications in JKR projects through presentations and interactive sessions.

2) myBIM Centre:

Overview: Established under the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia, the myBIM Centre is a specialized facility aimed at advancing BIM knowledge and adoption in the Malaysian construction industry. The centre serves as a hub for BIM resources, training, and collaboration.
Focus: Promoting the digital transformation of the construction industry through BIM, enhancing industry competitiveness.

Activities: Tour of the centre's state-of-the-art facilities, including immersive BIM labs and collaboration rooms, and demonstrations of advanced BIM applications such as 3D modeling, simulation, and augmented reality for construction projects.


This technical visit highlights the growing importance of BIM in Malaysia's construction sector, driven by both public and private initiatives. The exposure to practical applications of BIM at the training studio, JKR's BIM Unit, and the myBIM Centre offers participants valuable insights into how BIM can streamline construction processes and improve project outcomes. The visit underscores the need for industry professionals to adopt BIM to remain competitive and efficient in today’s construction landscape.

    * Parking: Menara PJD (get a pass at the lobby) or nearby public parking (RM5.00 per entry).
    * Public Transport: LRT to Titiwangsa station.

2. myBIM Centre, CIDB E-Construct
    * Parking: Sunway Putra Mall parking.
    * Public Transport: LRT to PWTC station.
