SYNOPSIS
Sustainable construction involves the design, construction, and operation of buildings and infrastructure in an environmentally responsible manner. This approach goes beyond reducing waste and using non-toxic by-products; it also underscores the critical role that the choice of building materials plays in advancing sustainability.
This seminar will feature four presentations and a live demonstration of High Flow Concrete. The presentations will cover a range of topics, including the latest revisions to Concrete Standards BS 8500-1:2023 and BS 8500-2:2023, and a comparison of CO2 emissions per tonne of OPC (CEM I) with various blended cements. We will delve into sustainability within concrete technology, guided by EN 206, and review the three design methods permitted by the standard. Additionally, there will be a focus on innovative strategies to reduce the product carbon footprint in data centers, highlighting the increasing use of supplementary cementitious materials and incorporating advanced admixtures.
