OVERVIEW
When companies first get involved in project management, there is a tendency to focus on a formalized project management approach structured around a project management methodology that contains processes, rigid policies and procedures as to how project work must take place. Deviations from the plan were discouraged because there was an inherent fear at the executive levels that there might be a loss of control without formalized processes. This is what waterfall approach in project management brings to most projects. However, as projects get more complex, ambiguous and unpredictable, waterfall-based approach is no longer able to meet the needs of the project. Agile is quickly becoming the go-to method of project management for a wide range of industries —from manufacturing to finance to health care and research and development. Organizations that embrace agility and adaptability outperform their counterparts, completing more projects successfully. This course will provide fundamental knowledge on agile project management and how it provides value to performing organization.
