SYNOPSIS

The Jordanian experience in elevating RWH showcases a dynamic interplay between governance strategies and community practices. By combining strong policy frameworks, institutional support, community engagement, and traditional knowledge with modern technologies, Jordan is making significant strides in sustainable water resource management. However, continuous efforts are needed to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities to ensure the long-term success and resilience of RWH in the face of changing environmental conditions.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

Dr Rania Fayiz Aburamadan
Applied Science University, Amman Jordan

Professor Rania Aburamadan is an accomplished academic and professional with over 20 years of experience in sustainable built environments and urban planning. She graduated with First Class Honours in Architectural Engineering from Applied Science University in Amman, Jordan, in 1998. She began her academic career as a Senior Lecturer in Architectural departments at Jordan University and Petra University. After completing her PhD in 2017, she joined the University of Petra and later Amman Arab University as an Assistant Professor, focusing on sustainable development and urban planning. She has led numerous student design projects and served as head of the Architecture Department at the Middle East University’s Faculty of Design and Architecture. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at Applied Science Private University. Her research interests include sustainable management, refugee studies, urban regeneration, and the use of technology in preserving heritage sites. She has been involved in various international projects and grants, such as HOBES, Jean Monnet Network, Erasmus, and others. Professor Aburamadan's work also includes significant contributions to urban farming, community engagement, and socioeconomic development in the MENA region.
