Poontrika Walton is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) from NFPA(USA) and a project lead at Fusion Fire Safety Ltd. She received B.Eng. (HONS) in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London and a university academic excellence award for her M.Sc. in Safety, Risks and Reliability from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. After spending many years as a metallurgist specialising in corrosion-resistant and high- temperature materials in England, she now works as a fire life safety specialist, focusing on construction materials, evacuation and fire dynamic simulations in Thailand and Southeast Asia. She currently sits in the AEI Building Safety Committee for AFEO and Women Engineer (WE) group at the Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT) Under H.M. The King's Patronage.

Since 2017, KC has been a key member of Camfil, the industry-leading air filter manufacturer based in Sweden. In his current role, he leads the company’s product management team in innovation, the development of new air filtration products, and sustainability initiatives. Additionally, he supports business development efforts in the Asia Pacific region. KC’s extensive experience and commitment to excellence continue to drive Camfil’s success and growth in the market.

5) Dr CHEE CHUNG YEE

Speaker’s Biodata
Dr Chee joined BACFREE as the Technical Director in 2004 and he has been actively involved in the field of water filtration and water quality research. In 2007, BACFREE ventured into rainwater harvesting system under Dr Chee’s leadership. Dr Chee is a member of SIRIM working committee for the development of Product Criteria Document for Rainwater Harvesting System Eco-Labelling. Dr Chee has also given many technical presentations on rainwater harvesting system, water filtration system and grey water treatment system to building industry professional seminars and during international seminars on green building.

“Capturing The Future – Rainwater Harvesting for Sustainable Buildings Towards ESG”

Synopsis
Rainwater harvesting is no longer a niche concept and is gaining recognition worldwide as a practical & viable solution to mitigate the escalating water crisis due to the impact of climate change, urbanization & industrialization. Every business & corporation ranging from large manufacturing to small mom & pop shop have a water footprint. Rainwater harvesting allows businesses to take proactive steps in reducing their water footprint & relieve the pressure on the ever-increasing demand for municipal water supply. Having an alternative water supply in the form of harvested rainwater also reduces the risk face by businesses that may result from frequent scheduled & unscheduled water supply interruptions. It contributes to the social pillars of ESG for businesses by improving community engagement, enhancing corporate brand image and most importantly ensuring equitable access to precious water resources. Sustainability of water resources has been given special focus by the government lately with the provision of Green Tax Incentives for qualified businesses implementing rainwater harvesting since 2023.



6) Ir. LUM YOUK LEE

Ir. Lum Youk Lee is a distinguished Board Member of a 4 decade old Asset & Facility Management Group, specializing in Property Management, Asset Management, Real Estate, and Valuation. Renowned in the field, he imparts his expertise as a lecturer and trainer on shopping mall and high-rise building management at universities and professional conferences. Throughout his illustrious career, Ir. Lum has assumed critical roles, ranging from consulting on major projects in JB and KL to spearheading property and asset management for REIT firms. A pioneer in airport retail, commercial space planning, development, and operations, he actively provides design and consultancy services for retail mall and commercial mixed development projects to developers and architects. With a track record dating back to the early 2000s, Ir. Lum has been a key panel trainer for the Malaysia Shopping Mall Association and the Institute of Engineers Malaysia, imparting knowledge to over two thousand industry executives. Known for his valuable insights, particularly on Strata Title projects, he is a regular contributor at seminars and is celebrated in industry publications. His recognized expertise led to his role as a judge for The Edge’s Best Property Award in 2019. Despite his busy schedule, he consistently engages as an active speaker and lecturer, embodying the ideal of a hands-on practitioner committed to excellence.

Siow is a professional engineer and competent engineer who has 17 years working experience in the construction industry with exposure to projects range from industrial, data centers, residential, commercial, healthcare, hospitality and infrastructure. He is conversant in electrical engineering consultancy, renewable energy consultancy, energy efficiency consultancy, commissioning of electrical system up to 33kV, electrical system quantities take off and electrical related contract administration. With strong base in electrical related cost and contract management, he has ventured into competent engineering field, which has equipped he with all-round skillsets in optimizing engineering practice compliance and cost of a project. John Cha holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Leeds University (UK) since 1998. He began his career as a Marine Sales & Service Engineer in Singapore before joining PROMAT in 1999. Over 7 years, he contributed significantly to Passive Fire Protection solutions, conducting inspections and fire testing across Europe and Asia Pacific. Transitioning to ROCKWOOL in 2006, he excelled as Technical Manager, later Senior Technical Manager, providing expertise to projects for Shell, Exxon Mobil, and others. His focus on thermal insulation and fire conservation in energy-intensive industries marked his tenure. Returning to PROMAT in 2014, he managed technical operations in Asia, leading research, and development efforts. Recognized for his leadership, he headed the Fire Laboratory for Fire Science Research Group MY in 2018, overseeing all testing activities. John's commitment to fire research and protection underscores his esteemed standing in the industry.

Moderator Biodata
Ir. Ts. Dr. Sara Lee Kit Yee graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). She received her Master's degree and PhD in advanced materials from Universiti Malaya (UM). She is a registered Professional Engineer and ACPE (ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer) with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia), a registered Professional Technologist with MBOT (Malaysian Board of Technologists), a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council, a member of IEM (Institution of Engineers Malaysia) and IMechE (Institution of Mechanical Engineers). She is currently serving as a committee member in the Mechanical Engineering Technical Division (METD), a standing committee member of Admissions and Practical Training (APT), and a standing committee member of Information & Publications (InfoPub). Additionally, she is an Editorial Board member of the IEM Journal. She has delivered talks at several universities to promote IEM's membership initiative and has contributed to various conferences as a technical committee member, reviewer, and session chair. She has also contributed as a panel judge and moderator in several technical talks and competitions organized by primary schools, universities, and industry.
