SYNOPSIS

seminar on the importance of UL & FM listed/approvals on fire-fighting equipment/systems installed in Malaysia. On top of that, we would also conduct a “Live Discharge Test” of the GEM541 (Inert) Fire Suppression System based on one of UL & FM testing requirement, which will be the “Pan Fire Test.” This test will involve the use of Heptane – which act as a catalyst for fire ignition.

The agenda:
a. The importance of UL & FM listed/approvals for the fire industry.
b. The importance of Bomba approved Carbion Dioxide (Co2) systems in the market.
c. The Kigali Amendment and its possible impact on the Malaysian market.
d. Introduction to Halocarbon & Natural suppression systems
e. To witness the “Live Discharge Test” of GEM541 (Inert) Fire Suppression System.


BIODATA OF SPEAKER

1. Ir. Yim Hon Wa
    B.Sc. (Mech)(UK), P.Eng, FIEM, MACEM, MASHRAE, ASEAN Eng., CEng, FIMechE

He has been in the engineering industry for over 40 years. He specializes in air[1]conditioning mechanical ventilation, fire protection, hydraulic systems and other mechanical building services. He now holds the position of deputy chairman in the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) and the vice chairman in the engineering accreditation council.

2. Mr. Goh Chong Meng Graduate of Stamford College (1978)
    Major in Accounting - Specialize in Fire Suppression Systems.

He has over 40 years of experience in the fire-fighting industry. He was also responsible for the acquisition of UL certification for the FE-13 system in Malaysia and also the UL & FM certification for GEM200, GEM1230, GEM541, GEM100, GEM55, and GEM01.

3. Mr. Bryan Lee Yuen Hwa
    University of Bolton, UK – Bachelor in Accounting (1996-1998) James Cook University, Australia – MBA, Master in Business Administration (2001-2003) -

Mr. Bryan Lee currently holds the title of sales and marketing manager and the head of the technical department for VIC Engineering Sdn. Bhd. He has been in this industry for more than 20 years with extensive experience in fire suppression and fire alarm systems.

4. Mr. Jeffrey Yong Jun Xin
    University of Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia – Bachelor of Degree (HONS) in Petrochemical Engineering (2013-2017)

Mr. Jeffrey Yong holds the title of product manager and head of the research and development sector in VIC Engineering Sdn. Bhd. He has been in the industry for more than 5 years with the experience of researching, developing, and producing local fire suppression systems with international recognitions.
