SYNOPSIS
This webinar talk equips participants with the fundamentals information about the recently launched National Biomass Action Plan 2023-2030. The National Biomass Action Plan aims to generate significant sustainable development benefits in terms of green wealth creation, socioeconomic development and addressing the net-zero emission target through circular economy practices.
This talk will covers key principles of the plan and the framework, the estimation baseline and availability, the biomass potential business models, the availability of government grants and financing schemes, benchmarking with other countries and the intended targets and goals.
By the end of the webinar talk, attendees emerge and equipped with the awareness and knowledge to better understand the gist of the National Biomass Action Plan 2023-2030.
SPEAKER BIODATA
Ts. Dr. Sang Yew Ngin has more than 27 years of technical and leadership roles in privates and government sector. He is currently serves as Undersecretary, Biofuel Division, Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK). He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), a Master of Environment from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and a Doctoral Degree (PhD) from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).
Ts. Dr. Sang is a Committee Member of PSESIG, Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) since 2015 in addition to being a Professional Technologist (P.Tech) registered with the Malaysian Board of Technology (MBOT). He is also currently serving as a Board Member for National Biosafety Board (NBB) and was previously served as an Authority Member of the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA).
Occasionally, he also being invited as a speaker in various seminars and conferences covering the biomass and biofuel domain and he also serves as manuscript reviewer with Journal of Cleaner Production and Energy Policy.
Ts. Dr. Sang previously has a working experience in the private sectors dealing with the Palm Oil Milling and Industrial Water & Wastewater Treatment. He is also has knowledge and expertise in the public policies and administration domain due to his experience and has previously serves in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) prior to his current posting in the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities.
