SYNOPSIS
The objective of this presentation is to explore the impact of urban flooding and strategies for resilience, focusing particularly on sustainable urban drainage designs and their impact on roadway safety. The talk will include examples illustrating these concepts and will also feature current research ideas and technologies relevant to the topic. Additionally, the speaker will share detailed insights from their research experience.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Dr. Zahiraniza Mustaffa is an Associate Professor and Chair of Integrated Engineering at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). She holds a PhD from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, an MSc from the University of Alberta, Canada, and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from UTM. Dr. Zahira's research focuses on urban hydraulics and probabilistic structural designs. She actively engages with the Women Engineers Section of the Institute of Engineers (IEM) and has received numerous teaching and research awards, including the prestigious national Teaching & Learning award in the 14th National Academic Award (Engineering Cluster) in 2022.
