SYNOPSIS
AI has been used in engineering education in various ways to enhance the learning experience and improve students' skills via its various technological applications. As in this 21st century, creativity is one of the pivotal skills that every learner should possess and creativity is the fundamental component in education. AI can be used for creativity in engineering education by providing tools and support that enhance the creative ideation process and foster innovative thinking. In this talk, we are going to focus on the utilization of AI technology in engineering education and how this technology has been used to unleash the creative skills among engineering students. We are also going to explore on how this AI applications must be used in more efficient and responsible ways in engineering education especially in the context of developing creative skills among the undergraduates.
BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Dr Balamuralithara Balakrishnan is an Associate Professor in Sultan Idris Education University, Malaysia. He is an expert in trans-disciplinary research that amalgamates educational creative studies, STEM education, ethics and sustainability to bring a new paradigm in education studies. Dr Bala received several international awards for his contribution to the academic world and society. He obtained 4 International grants from fund provider based in Japan, the US and the UK. Dr Bala received fellowship award from ITMO University, Russia and appointed as Visiting Professor by several universities in Indonesia. Dr Bala contributed research articles in high impact journals in his area of expertise.
