BIODATA OF SPEAKER
Ir. Azalea Badrulshah
Ir. Azalea, a Dyson Design Engineer, has been inspiring the younger generation to become engineers and innovators with the James Dyson Foundation since October 2016. She facilitates problem solving workshops, STEM presentations, and serves as an invited Industrial Judge for various student project exhibitions and engineering competitions at universities and secondary schools. Her commitment to STEM Outreach was sparked in 2017 when students from an all-girls school asked for autograph after a spaghetti bridge STEM competition.
Currently, schools struggle to produce the targeted 60% of STEM students, as STEM subjects are perceived as tough and technical. As a woman engineer from the industry, she believes her presence at educational institutions is crucial in being an exemplar for students.
Her missions are simple:
(1) showcase to students that learning STEM is fun! (2) inform students that determination, hard work and persistence are essential to overcome challenges & be the Best Engineer for the country.
If Ir. Azalea struggled with Mechanical Engineering course and yet achieved her Professional Engineer qualification a decade later, the students can do too, especially our girls.
In the webinar, Ir. Azalea will discuss the how's and why’s women engineers need to contribute to STEM Education and be role models for the younger generation, while sharing her fun STEM adventures!
Limited to 93 participants only (first come basis) and confirmation email will be sent for successful registration latest by 15 December 2023 @ 5.00 PM
