SPEAKER 1 & SYNOPSIS

Title : Overview of Life Cycle Cost Formulas and Calculation

LCC is as a useful economic assessment technique that provides total cost information, which can facilitate the government and private agencies, asset owners, cost estimators etc. in the built environment to make better decision in determining the most optimum total ownership costs of an asset. This session is a detailed discussion into the formulas and the calculations involved in LCCA.


1) Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd. Fairullazi Ayob

Mohd. Fairullazi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Quantity Surveying, KAED, IIUM. He was awarded the Best PhD Student Award 2014 in Built Environment for his research on Life Cycle Cost (LCC). He had invented several novelty protocols of LCC analysis that filed for copyright and patent, and also applied in the consultancy works, training services and research projects. He is a registered professional engineer (P.Eng.) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE).


SPEAKER 2 & SYNOPSIS


Title : Case Studies using LCCA

This session will showcase the actual applications of LCCA from the perspective of a Government agency. The LCCA Case Studies should assist the Government in appropriate of LCC for the entire procurement process to achieve Value For Money. It provides practical examples as to how to use LCC as economic evaluation factor.


2) Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamad Adzizulrohim Bin Abd Malek

Ir. Dr. Mohamad Adzizulrohim is a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) where he is regarded as the expert in Asset Management, particularly Life Cycle Costing (LCC). He graduated with a PhD in Asset and Facilities Management from Universiti Malaya in 2019. He is registered as ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) and Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC).


SPEAKER 3 & SYNOPSIS

Title :  Development of Deterioration Modelling in LCCA

Life Cycle Cost Analysis of an asset is influenced by their condition performance throughout the asset’s life, which can be predicted using deterioration models. Artificial Intelligence has been recently utilized in the developments of models. Input from these models is essential for the LCCA accuracy, and important in infrastructure asset management as basis for maintenance and rehabilitation decision-making.


3) Ir. Ts. Azhar Azmi

Ir. Ts. Azhar Azmi graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from UTM, Masters in Highway & Transportation from UPM, and currently undertaking doctoral studies. He specializes in pavement engineering and road asset management, with experience in both the industry and academia with current position as Sr. Lecturer at INTI International University. He is currently the Chairman of IEM UEDSIG.
