SYNOPSIS
Tuanku Muhriz Power Station is a 2 x 1,ooo MWe Ultra Super Critical coal fired power plant located in Jimah, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. It was owned by Jimah East Power Sdn. Bhd (“JEP”) which is sponsored by TNB (70%) and comined Mitsui & Co. LTd and Chugoku Electric Power. Inc, Japan (30%). This modern plant is equipped with various Pollution Control System such as Particulate Matter Control, Sulphur Oxides Control, Nitrogen Oxides Control; Low NOx Burners, Water Discharge Control, Waste Water Treatment Plant to meet the environment requirement.The Plant practices high level of safety management programs such as Permit-To-Work (PTW), Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), etc. for proper workflows control and isolation of energy sources help to reduce the chances of mishaps and accidents. Regular safety inspections and audits including Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) is performed to identify safety deficiencies and unsafe work practices for improvements and control. The objectives of the visits is to learn about the best practices on safety and how a world class power plant are managed and maintained.
