ABOUT TECHNICAL VISIT TO “MIMOS Berhad”

MIMOS’ Advanced Analytical Laboratory – Failure Analysis and Material Analysis is equipped with a complete spectrum of state-of-art analytical and characterization instruments such as Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Dual Beam System, Time of Flight - Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (TOF-SIMS), Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), and many more. This laboratory provides analysis of material in any sizes ranging from micrometre (um) up to nanometer (nm) level, which is an essential tool for nanotechnology R&D activities such as graphene and carbon nanotubes. The capabilities of the equipment will help to accelerate industry development activities on emerging technology. Having been in business since 2000 to support the local E&E industry, the lab is staffed by highly competent engineers and researchers with over 20 years of experience in semiconductor technology, where their knowledge can assist the industries in resolving manufacturing and R&D issues. Our services come with flexible engagement models to suit the needs of the industry, academia, and analytical consultants. The lab has received ISO9001:2015 certification and ISO/IEC17025 accreditation, as well as being recognized by NanoVerify Verification Lab. As of June 2022, the lab has benefitted 430 customers from the manufacturing industry; universities; research institutes, government agencies, and R&D organizations; from Malaysia and also overseas.

The objective of this visit is to provide participants opportunities to understand the capabilities at MIMOS to our engineering profession.
