Abstract Over the years, it has been observed that many graduate engineers are unable to present themselves for the Professional Interview (PI) conducted by the IEM because they possess insufficient design experience, which is a prerequisite. This intensive design course will therefore prepare potential candidates for the said PI.
Course Overview This course is industry designed, to provide a broad understanding of the design methodology, concepts, and processes involved. The methodology is presented with examples drawn from service, case studies and applications. With a heavy practice orientation, much of your time will be spent working through interactive practical exercises and assessments.
Course Objectives The primary objectives of the course are to:- • guide the graduate engineers to acquire the fundamental fire engineering design knowledge in buildings • prepare graduate mechanical engineers from industry, who do not have sufficient or any design experience to appear for the PI; • act as a refresher course for current Professional Engineers, who intend to upgrade their existing design skills.
Learning Outcomes On successful completion of this course, the engineer will be:- • able to design the Fire Protection Systems for a typical 10-storey commercial building; • familiar with all relevant Codes and Standards required by the local authorities • thorough with the entire design process and protocols of fire protection system
Course Format The course consists of formal content presentation. The presenter’s style involves intensive participant participation
Target Audience Specifically targeted at graduate mechanical engineers who are planning to appear for the Professional Interview but do not have any or sufficient design experience.
Note: - Limited to 25 Participants only
