What is engineering week?
EW2011 is organised to introduce and promote the engineering profession to the general public and the contribution of Engineers in Scientific and Technology Development.
A one-week programme will be arranged to promote engineering actively and covering all aspects; the challenges, professionalism, the exciting working environment and the wide career options available to engineers. Society must be made to understand and appreciate the versatility of the engineering profession in providing them with a high standard of living. The target groups for these strategies should be the organisations, IEM members, universities and schools.
Why get involved?
Here are a number of reasons why people get involved with Engineering Week. These reasons include:
Corporate Social Responsibility - Involvement can be an integral part of your organisations corporate social responsibility and can act as a medium to interact, engage and network with other organisations in the community.
Publicity - The national and state publicity will enhance an organisations corporate image.
Shape the Future - Your organisations involvement in Engineering Week can help inspire students to consider engineering as a career choice and help to ensure the future pipeline of engineers.
